When a prescription say's 1 tablet every 4-6 hours how many is it saying to take a day?

I have a few that say that. Usually it says AS NEEDED. So what I do is just take it AS NEEDED. lol

I just make sure I take no more than 6 a day in a 12hr period.

if you can only take one tablet in 6 hours

and i'm assuming you dont want to get up in the night to take them

then take two a day.

but you could just set a timer for four or six ours and take one when the timer goes off

if it says take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed. you take one, then in 4 hours you decide if it is time for another pill, if not you can wait another 2 hours to take the pill. you would take between 4 and 6 pills a day (spaced at 4-6 hour intervals) depending on how long you wait between doses.
