When a show is recorded on a DVR, does that count as being watched by a viewer or not?

When a show is recorded on a DVR, does that count as being watched by a viewer or not? And if that is true, could that be the reason for a show receiving fewer viewers and being pulled off TV?

I wonder the same thing. I am so mad that so many good shows got cancelled! I watch all those show though cable DVR most of the time. Ugh, I hope someone can answer.
