Figuring the traders flock to buy the stock that is being purchased to make a profit on that, and they sell what they are in in that sector to make something on that one rising star?

  1. sometimes that is true, buts its too generic to assume that.  Alot of times, people are just flocking to a sector, i.e. energy, and all stocks in the sector see more positive flows.  tba

  4. NO

There's more than a sufficient number of investors/traders to support other sectors.

There are many professional investor/traders that stay with sectors rather than move to those that are in favor

When securities have value, they are always in demand wether the sector is in demand or not.

Many fund companies stay wth sectors and give support in the event that certain securities become more attractive in price.
