I mean if people or animals were covered with saliva, would you be able to see their bones when you dug them up.

  1. Ha Ha Ha Ha....

I am guessing you mean Lava and not spit????

Hot molten saliva (after a hot curry)

Thanks troll man that was the best I have read all day.

  2. I think you have had a muppet moment but nevermind you are good company!

  3. Volcanos throw out two sorts of stuff (in simple terms) - Lava is molten rock that flows like refd hot treacle - it is very hot and will destroy anything organic like flesh, bones etc etc etc.

The other thing volcanos throw out is volcanic ash. This can come out in superheated clouds (one of the most dangerous types of eruption) and this is what overwhelmed the Roman town of Herculanum. The walls of the town and its buildings survived, buried under 20-30 foot of ash. They have recently found human remains, the bodies were incinerated but the spaces that the bodies occupied were left as a kind of mould . Much more famous for its preservation of bodies as moulds is nearby Pompeii. Here it was suffocatinmg falls of ash, but not as superheated as at Herculanum and the voids that the bodies left have been filled with plaster, then the ash removed to reveal the form of the body. Vary rarely tree stumps will survive being buried in volcanic ash to leave recognisable remains.

  4. The towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum were covered in volcanic ash, which did preserve the people and buildings it covered.

As far as lava is concerned, the very hot temperatures involved would probably cause the bones to disintegrate.

  5. Dont you mean LAVA?  Saliva is another word for spit.

  6. probably....not...

  7. Saliva - or drool, comes out of your mouth. Lava comes out of a volcano. Lava is extremely hot (molten rock) & it would melt you too. If you were covered in ash from the volcano as in Pompeii, you may be preserved.

  8. yes saliva is the best form of preservative, keeps your mouth fresh doesnt it?

  9. Volcanoes do not erupt with saliva - that is a substance in your mouth!!

Volcanoes erupt with magma and would dissolve any flesh or bones it came into contact with.

  10. It's 'Lava' not 'saliva' and i dont know much about volcanos but i would thing everything would be turned to ashes.

  11. The only problem I have with your question is that I don't think saliva hardens so you wouldn't have to dig them up.

  12. Ahahahaha, thanks for that - I needed a good laugh ^_^, hehe

Umm..if by saliva you mean lava, then yeah, you could kind of dig up their bones. Check out Pompei - although that was more from the volcanic/superhot ash that fell down.
