it goes closest to your heart on the inside of your engagement ring!

however you can wear it any way you want!  i have friends who wear their engagement ring on the inside because it means more to them!  as long as you got them both on, no one will say you did it wrong

mumbles, nm i am European, ok there are several options, it either goes on oposite hands, bellow or above

acording to wiki in US wedding ring goes on left hand

while some european countries have it on the rigth

and some european countries also use the same ring, just adding engravement and changing hand.

The band goes on your ring finger (next to the pinkie on your left hand) because it has been said that it is the only finger that has a vein that goes directly to the heart.  I do not know if that is true.. but it sounds good!  The engagement ring goes on the outside.  Most brides place their engagement ring on their right hand for the wedding day.

Traditionally, the wedding band is placed on the finger , followed by the engagement ring.   The wedding band is supposed to be closer to the heart, that is why most people remove the engagement ring, put the wedding band on, then put the engagement ring back on. However, a lady @ my church wears hers backwards with the engagement ring 1st (to proclaim their love, she explained) and then the wedding band ( to seal their love).

Everybody seems to have a different answer for this.  Do what you want.

I have my wedding band first, then my engagement ring.  Wore my engagement ring on my right hand for the wedding ceremony, and switched it during the communion.  I believe the wedding ring symbolizes a mutual decision, where as the engagement ring symbolizes his intentions... (to put it simply)

Others feel that the engagement ring was given first and is the first show of commitment so it should stay on the inside of the finger.

nope the engagement ring goes ontop of it.  its so the band is closer to the heart.  and heres another useless fact there is a vein from your ring finger to your heart that is always another reason why that is where the wedding rings go =)

Traditionally, the wedding band goes on first with the the engagement ring on top. I would suggest that during the ceremony, you put your engagement ring on the right ring finger. Once the ceremony is over, you can then slip the engagement ring on your left ring finger.

The wedding band is supposed to be worn underneath the engagement ring, closer to the heart as some others have noted.

During my wedding ceremony, I wore my engagement ring on my right hand. That way my left hand was open to have the wedding band slipped on. I then switched my engagement ring over to my left hand after the ceremony but before pictures.

When we placed each others rings on each others fingers, I personally turned her wedding ring to the side closest to her heart and engagement ring out....you want the sacrament nearest to the heart symbolically,, and that would be the wedding ring closest to the heart  because it symbolizes the sacrament.

Take off the engagement ring just before the wedding ceremony so that your finger is bare.  The wedding ring goes there, and the engagement ring goes back on beside it, after the ceremony.
