When acrylic paint drys is it water proof?

I made a sign for my brothers wedding with acrylic paint on linen. It is going behind a pontoon boat which should not get wet but if it does will the paint run? Is there a coating i can put on it?

once it is dry it is completely waterproof

It will be waterproof. Acrylic paint turns to plastic when it dries.

Any coating you put over it would be made of basically the same stuff as the paint (acrylic), so I wouldn't bother.
