When addressing or introducing a former state governor, should you call them Governor Smith?

It there another way of refering to them? We have a former governor visiting my work, and we need to know the correct way to address him and refer to him publicly.

  1. Governor Smith will always be the proper introduction unless the Governor is elected to another office or reguests a different salutation.  This holds true for all political offices.


  2. When introducing Joe the former plumber do you say plumber Joe NO! Its Mr. so or so . Why place a pedestal under their feet. It was public service they did not angelic work.

  3. "Governor" is still the proper title.
