What does each click of the adjustment s***w represent in pounds? My trigger is an X-mark Pro, for example if I turned the s***w 4 clicks anti-clockwise, what does that do? And does anyone know what they are set at when they leave the factory?

  1. Brady, essentially you've already asked this question so...  Just get a competent gunsmith to do this for you.  Save yourself the trouble and possible grief if the trigger is too light and you have an unintentional discharge.

  3. First of all, there aren't any "clicks" when turning the preload adjustment s***w....it's just that, a 's***w" albeit with an allen head. Most new remingtons leave the factory at about 4 1/2 lbs and you can't get much under this and still have enough sear engagement to safely hold the firing pin when closing the bolt. You'll probably be able to get it down to about 3 to 3 1/2 lbs reliably.Remove the action from the stock, look at the front of the trigger assembly and see the LOWER allen head s***w? Scrape off the "sealant", back it out about 1 turn ( counterclockwise) and try closing the bolt HARD and see if the firing pin holds, if so keep backing out maybe another half turn. Now reseal the s***w with nailpolish and reassemble. That's it!
