I bought 2 tickets online one for me and one for my mother. These tickets are from United Airlines operated by TACA. This is a nonstop flight. My sister called United 2 weeks ago asking them for the seating #s, but they say she had to call TACA for that information. My sister then called TACA, but they told her she had to called United. Once again she called United and they told her that TACA has that information and when the day of my flight comes I have to go to the United Airlines counter. I'm confused!!

  1. here's where it gets difficult, if you bought the ticket through united you have a united ticket number so taca is unable to give you seats. and on the reverse end united is unable to assign seats on taca's aircraft. not all of the airlines computers are running on the same system so sometimes you don't always get your seat assignment right away....plus the airport blocks off a certain number of seats for their own use and reservations can't do anything about that anyways. so you'll be fine waiting till the day of departure to get your seats. if you are taking a flight operated by taca go to the taca counter to check in.

  2. If you bought the tickets through United (UA), have a UA flight number, and a UA Passenger Name Record (PNR), then United should be able to give you seat assignments, unless it's very close to your flight time or the flight is oversold.

You would need to check in at the United counter.
