When an informant working with police in a control ed delivery after officer searches informant?

informant gose to the location where he is to make the delivery but in stead he walks 3 blocks away then he makes the delivery walks all most the distance of 3 football fields to meet officer and hand over the item to the officer would this be legal for the police to use to get a search warrant

When the informant makes a controlled delivery, that is the information needed to get the warrant.  The distance from the officer is irrelevant.  The warrant only needs to be able to identify, by address or other location, the building to be searched, and the probable cause to search (the controlled delivery).
