I know this sounds weird, but I kinda of want to let my hair thin out, and fall out a bit, because i was born with really thick, and a lot of hair on my head. I would say I have like double or triple the amount of hair than someone who has normal hair. And its also very thick, so thick that when i was younger, my hair couldn't blow in the wind or anything like that..It would just stick up. I know its nothing I should be concerned with because im a boy, but i dont understand why theres so much hair on my head, Ive never been able to do anything with it! Anyone have the same problem? Ive noticed a lot of changes though, when i was younger, say around 10-12 years of age, i used to have a widows peak, but now its gone.

  1. It occurs some time after the age of 25.

It's caused by: (copy and pasted XP )

Traction alopecia is most commonly found in people with ponytails or cornrows who pull on their hair with excessive force.

Trichotillomania is the loss of hair caused by compulsive pulling and bending of the hairs. It tends to occur more in children than in adults. In this condition the hairs are not absent from the scalp but are broken. Where they break near the scalp they cause typical, short, "exclamation mark" hairs.

Iron deficiency is a common cause of thinning of the hair, though frank baldness is not usually seen.

  2. I've never heard of any guy WANTING for his hair to fall out, even the ones who shave their head, haha. I think it just depends. My dad was completely bald by the time he was like 25. I don't know what you could really do to make it fall out, other than stop your in-take of very important vitamins/minerals, which would be ridiculous and I would not suggest. Have you asked a hairstylist? They may be able to use a razor and thin it out a little. Other than that i'm sorry, but you may just have to deal with having a thick head of hair.

  3. no standard time. Had a friend in college who lost most of his hair as a sophomore. More usually is gradual, with noticeable loss starting in the 40s.

  4. Hello,

It is hereditary, and its kind of like hair color or eye color. You take the alleles, so say you have one parent who has brown eyes and another who has blue. Brown eyes are more dominant than blue and because they are more dominant usually means it has the "upper hand". Hair is similar in that sense, some families they start losing their hair in the 20s (hereditary) or they start losing it younger. Some families thickness in hair is a trait, and so forth. Hope that helps. If I were you, don't thin, guy with thick hair is attractive. Even guys with not so thick, be happy with what you have and work with it.
