When and where can i apply US citizenship? I'll complete my 5yrs stay in USA by July2009.?

BUt want to visit Philippines for 2months this december .is there an effect in my application for citizenship? do i need re-enterpermit?

  1. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/m... has a PDF application for download and details. I don't think leaving for two months will affect the residency requirement and if you have a green card, which I assume you do if you've been here for over four years, I don't think you'd have any trouble getting back in. You should probably contact the USCIS and not just take my, or anyone else's, advice on this.


  2. If you are a LPR and in possession of a valid I-551 you can leave the United States for 2 months and be readmitted with your I-551.  If you are planning on being outside the United States for more than 6 months, you might want to contact INS/CIS and see about getting a travel document (forgot the form #).

  3. Two months out of the US has no impact on your eligibility.  See the USCIS website for all the relevant information and form (N-400).
