  1. Religion is an English word, and the Quran is in Arabic.

English is a comparitively newer language.  It did not exist 600 years ago.

The closest word that can be translated into English as "religion" is the word in the Quran "Deen"

That really means "way to live"

    It also means "consequence"

  2. It comes from the ancient greek 'Logos' which means knowledge.

It was mistranslated as 'Ligios', and later changed to Ligion.

'Re' Ligion means to repeatedly attempt to bestow knowledge.

Whether or not that knowledge has any basis in reality (just like this explanation).

  3. The word, most likely it is Latin if you are speaking of the English version of the word. The first mention of religion would be the day that man looked into the sky at the sun, and wondered where he came from.

  4. No, it's from Latin.
