When and why did Magic Mountain take out Flashback and Psychlone?

I LOVED those coasters for years...and much to my dismay last time I was there I could find neither...

when and why did they take them out?

Flashback.  Closed in 2003 and finally taken down in 2007.  It was really loud and distracting to the hurricane harbor lifeguards right next to Flashback.  They were going to take it down and move it to where Psyclone was but then decided not to for some reason.

Psyclone.  Taken down in 2006.  One of the WORST and ROUGHEST rides EVER.

Psyclone has been hit hard in the past few years for the roughness of the ride. Not only is that one of the reasons why they are taking it down but for future expansion of the park.

The Reason why Flashback is being takened down and hasnt been running for several years is because flashback is located right next to Hurracaine Harbor. It's so noisy that it distracts the lifegaurds.
