Question:

When anti-abortionists say pro-choicers should be forced to have abortions ...?

... isn't this just proving that they view becoming pregnant as a punishment for having s*x?

Some anti-abortionists say that if abortion is legal pro-choicers should be forced to have abortions.

Yet they say taking life is a sin.

So which is it?

If they force someone to have an abortion, then they are guilty of taking life themselves.

The person who would suffer would be the pregnant woman.

They seem more intent on punishing women than in standing by their principles.

  1. People who are pro-life don't say that.  If they do, it's usually a response to the statement that people who are pro-life should adopt a child, to prove they mean what they say.  For example, Question: Should all pro-lifers adopt an unwanted child, or are they more concerned with controlling a woman's body, than the actual baby?"  Answer: Of course not. Should all people who are pro-choice have an abortion, to prove they stand behind what they say?"  It has nothing to do with pregnancy being a punishment.  If anything, people who are pro-life see pregnancy as a blessing, and encourage others to see it that way too.  EDIT:  Are you really that dense, that you can't see that comment for what it is:  an outrageous answer to an even more outrageous question?  Nobody who claims to be pro-life would ever suggest, seriously, that pro-choice advocates have an abortion.  Did you even read Rebel Man's link, before you posted it here?

  2. No its pro choice people who say everybody should have an abortion.

Also pro choice peole are pedophiles and hate blacks.

See I can make up stuff on the go too.

  3. It's stupid because being pro-choice is about having the basic choice, right and freedom to have abortion when necessary, a lot of people who are pro-choice hate abortion, but don't hate freedom.

It's the same choice, right and freedom here that allows people to carry firearms in the US.

  4. ...it's everyday we hear people say stupid things because they haven't probably thought about what it would mean to other people.. nobody can force anybody to have an abortion, we all know that. what we know is: if the law allows it, then let those who want to benefit from the law, do so.. and those who don't , may keep their peace.

i know not all legal things are good.. just as some things illegal are not that bad.. but in a civil society, voices shall be heard ..and yet, laws shall be upheld.

  5. It seems as if they are a wee bit FASCIST, doesn't it. But then again, they claim to be made in the image of god.

  6. Wow, do some of them actually say that? How awful! That's in essence wishing their children dead. Blech.

People can certainly be stupid. Please, though, don't assume all pro-lifers are that way. I am staunchly pro-life and I would never, ever, EVER tell anyone that they should be forced to undergo an abortion. Not only would it be hypocritical, but it would also be a massive violation of their rights. Also, not all pro-lifers wish to punish women. I have a couple of friends who have had abortions (years back). Know what? I don't want to punish them. They are haunted by their experience and that is punishment enough. Besides, it's a legal procedure and you can't punish someone who has not broken the law (even if I feel they broke God's law). Just sayin'.

I'm still in shock that anyone would be that hypocritical and cruel, actually!!

  7. You know... Most anti-abortionist men do want to have s*x before marriage and they do want to have the sexual freedom. It doesn't matter for them because they are men. That's exactly what they think. If a woman has s*x and becomes pregnant they will blame her for harlotry........

    See the double standards???

  8. What kind of pro-life supporter promotes abortion!?  Yeah, ......that's definitely messed up!

Oh, I  remember. My rant as opposed to your question.  That makes sense now.

Now whose being demeaning and aggressive?

I agreed about the problem. Do you have a learning disability?

  9. Well I'm pro-choice and had an abortion to save my life (my fetus died and wouldn't abort naturally)-so I've done my share for the cause. Since pro-choicers advocate responsible use of birth control-they're the least likely to need an abortion. But we don't think we have the right to tell a woman she has to give birth-any more than I think I have the right to tell a woman she has to have an abortion. The anti-choice movement is exactly that-they don't want women to have a choice-they want you to have to have a child or have to have an abortion. I've noticed the anti-choice movement is really anti-contraception-so they actually increase the number of abortions due to their belief system and political agenda. Bush has cut reproductive health training and education and birth control availability around the world if abortion is mentioned at all as part of the reproductive educational programs. It has caused a dramatic increase in abortions world-wide.

btw: In some countries-women are forced to have abortions-women don't have a lot of rights in many countries.

  10. I'll agree with you that anybody who says this and is serious is a hypocrite.  I only said that in response to the ridiculous argument that some of y'all make that pro-lifers should have to adopt all the unwanted babies.  I don't really think that.  I thought everybody would be able to figure that out.  I guess I overestimated people's intelligence on here.

  11. how..odd....

im anti abortion...but it makes no sense to me to say PCs should be forced to have abortions...

    it goes against my beliefs...

  12. They Are Not Really Pro Life They Are Anti Choice

Edit: Tiss how is pregnancy a blessing for a rape victim or a teenager?

  13. Hypocrisy is what it is.

I think it's because they are scared the baby of a pro-choice woman will be more likely to grow up to be a pro-choice person who will keep standing up against the pro-lifers and making it impossible for pro-life groups to get their outrageous laws passed. They want to get rid of opposition because they know they can't win as long as there are people pointing out the flaws in their pro-life beliefs.

  14. Women possess the ability to confer life on new human beings - now you know that big special things like that are never going to be left alone by people who want control over that power for themselves.  They don't see pregnancy / childbirth as the processes of a woman's body, they see them as impersonal human-photocopying machines owned by and answerable to everyone, including them :-)

  15. I have never heard of a pro-life campaigner saying that. Perhaps you could post a link to a news article where that is quoted?

Being pro-life is not about punishing women. I feel nothing but sympathy for a women who has no choice but to have an abortion (and that's what abortion is, no choice - the worst choice). It's about protecting the very real life of unborn children.

So, any trye pro-life campaigner would never suggest anyone had an abortion, and I humbly suggest that you may be mistaking in stating that they do.

  16. I think they miss the point of pro choice. Forcing people to have an abortion is still not a choice.

I am pro choice and yet I personally have never had an abortion and I'm not sure that I ever would. I just think that the choice should be left for the person who is in the position not decided for us by some fat cat MAN sitting in office that has no clue what it is like to find themselves pregnant.

  17. I'm pro-choice but you should really show your resource for these comments.

I've never heard of an anti-abortionist saying that pro-choicers should be forced to have abortions.....that sounds a bit fabricated.

    Are you bored?

  18. I said it only to prove a point of how ridiculous it was for some woman to say that pro-lifers should be required to adopt a baby. I don't really think anyone should be required to have an abortion. Same as pro-lifers being required to adopt a child. If that was the case, many children would be in families where they weren't wanted because the parents were required to adopt them against their will. Parents who adopt have big hearts, big enough that they can love a child who wasn't even their own.

EDIT: Rebel Man was using it to prove a point as I was. He thought that you'd be smart enough to realize that he wasn't serious. Same as me.
