Like brake earlier and gently. using both brakes. anything else? I really don't fancy sliding out and scratching my chrome.

  1. I would go with No religion, use more of the rear brake, then give yourself more time and distance. Don't panic and be safe..

    Good luck.

  2. try downshifting as you crest the hill I try to use a bit more rear brake than I normally do when stopping down hill.

the most important thing to do is BE SMOOTH dont panic relax and practice practice practice.....

    good luck and have fun

    ride smatr

  3. If you're talking about a bike then put the brakes on gently as you go down the hill that way you'll be in complete control.

  4. more rear break than front. slow down much earlier and slow your overall ride down 10-15%. if your front goes theres little you can do. Trust me on this one.

  5. Apply the front brake with finger pressure and be prepared to release it in a second, if the front wheel should lock up and hydro-plain.

Lean back - get more weight on the rear wheel.

Use engine braking to slow the bike down and be prepared to pull in the clutch lever if the rear wheel should lock up.

Engine braking - throttle off, trani in gear, the ground speed is being reduced by the compression of the engine.

  6. Yea, first off, go slower than normal, and brake earlier, give yourself some more time and distance.
