When applying for Theater colleges how much of the schools decision depends on Academic standing and ontalent?

I have an 89 average but a fair amount talent on the stage.

  1. You have suitable grades. I would say your talent is the most important part but they can't have a flunker.


  2. in most programs you have to be seperated by two different committees; the theater department, and the college itself.  usually if you pass the audition, they will then pass your portfolio on to the college committee with a recommendation to accept.  then you will pretty much get in, as long as you meet the minimum academic requirements that the college has established.  sometimes if you don't and are extremely talented, the department will fight for you to be accepted anyways on account of your skills and how badly they want you in the program- I have seen that happen before.  it depends on what schools you are applying for, but don't worry about it, you just need a great audition.  just do your research on the programs/schools.
