I am 22 and in Maryland, where everyone regardless of age is required to take driver's ed to get a driver's license (even though the license STILL cost $50, as does a learner's permit, which only lasts for 1 year and then you have to take/past the test AND pay $50 AGAIN to get ANOTHER learner's permit). Anyhow, I just graduated from college and don't really know what to do about a job because there are really no jobs around here, plus my father (who is also unemployed) thinks I should wait and see if I am approved for social security which he tola me to apply for (I won't know until at least December). But meanwhile can't afford to take driver's ed, which costs approximately $300. However, in Washington DC you are not rerquired to take driver's ed to get a license, so I was thinking if my father shows me how to drive, then I could just get a DC license and change it to a Maryland license later instead of having to pay all of that money for driver's ed.

  1. They can not issue a drivers license with a Post Office Box.

  2. The federal regulations do don't say that you can't use a PO Box however most Counties make their own regulations against it. But if you file an appeal and have a good reason for using a PO Box then you will be allowed to use one.

  3. So that you get the correct information you need to call your department of motor vehicles office.

I know in some states they will not accept just a P.O. Box and that is for security reasons.
