Question:

When are Muslims going to stop waging ''my scholar vs your scholar'' battle?

You know what? You're never going to tickle a non-Muslim's brain when you guys keep fighting among yourselves. What is so horrible about having a variety of different opinions on religious matters? Why is it so horrible for some Muslims to accept that some Muslims don't believe that, for example, hijab is compulsory? Or that keeping a beard is not necessary in order to be a good Muslim?

This section has turned into nothing but waging a battle between whose scholar is more credible. They're nothing but humans too and very capable of making an error. So why not just accept that everybody got it a little right (and a little wrong at the same time)?

It's annoying to watch you people fight when all I'm after are some answers. Perhaps I'm seeking God, perhaps I'm re-examining some of my decisions in the past - even I'm not sure yet - but reading your constant accusations among yourselves makes me feel d**n glad I'm not a part of the Ummah anymore.

  1. it's a sad sad state indeed..

one of the reasons why i can't stand to stay on these forums for too long before i need a break from the insanity..

  2. I am impressed by your question. You know I have seen many different opinions and rules set by scholars on different subjects that I have come to the point only to accept the Qur'an as a definite and unquestionable source. Then, to a lesser degree, to accept authentic Hadith. I will accept a scholar's ruling if it contains sufficient proof from the Qur'an and authentic Hadith, but not every ruling that people give. And, I don't follow a certain Imam (You know, Shafii, Maliki, ...etc.) as they were humans, too.

  3. Yes, it should never be my scholar verses your scholar. It should always n always be what Quran says and what Ahadith says~!

  4. Well first off you know all this religion stuff doesn't leave this planet, right?  I mean it's our little vipers pit of varying opinions that don't mean anything, really, when it comes to the true wonder of existence.  Of course this is only my humble opinion, but I sure don't try to force said opinion on anybody through jihad.

The bigger question is when are we going to stop with this silly "My god's better than your god" garbage?  It's like a pissing contest between two air ferns.  They got nothin', if you get what I'm saying.

  5. mind your own religion.

thats not a question you are posting

  6. Poppy that is a minority do not get bogged down by them, like I said there are ways to teach one another, and I admit at times we don't use the correct methods, why...? Because we are human after all and not perfect thus we fall into error without realizing.

We have differences I agree but if the foundation of that is similar i.e oneness if Allah etc then Insha'Allah things will prevail, for surely the truth always does.

  7. Poppy, my Poppy...... you are so dear to me do you know that???

It pains me to see people caring more about the outside of things..... preaching about how i will burn in h**l or how i twist my deen just over a thing like hijab, while on the other hand they will say the most horrible things about people who believe otherwise, like Shia or Ahmadiyya.

Is THAT following Allah's command? To trash and bash and slash others who think differently? Is THAT the example Mohammad (PBUH) gave to us Muslims?

He approached even his enemies with kindness and regards.

I prefer to care about the big things, like treating others nice, like trying to convey the message of love that Islam is to me. I made a resolve today. I'm not going to engage myself in the 'if you do not wear hijab you twisting your deen' discussions anymore. Not the ones that are only started to proof the wrong of those who don't anyways.

Mullahs...... i could not care less about them! Talk to 20, and even those 20 will disagree. I will follow the Quran...... i will turn to hadith, if they are sahih AND do not contradict the Quran.

And know one thing...... if you want to discuss anything at all about the decisions you made or want to make...... i'm just a PM  or email away from you my sister!

  8. Well, I think the virus in Iraq got spread here!

Shias and Sunnis were always meant to fight against each other!

And btw, dont forget Mohammed said its a sunnah to have a disagreement among things!

  9. Allaah says in Soorah Aal-‘Imraan, verse 105:

    وَلاَ تَكُونُواْ كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُواْ وَاخْتَلَفُواْ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَـتُ وأولئك لهم عذاب عظيم

((And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them, and for them is a great punishment))

    Al-Muznee (رحمه الله) said,

((And Allaah dispraised differing, and ordered to return to the Book and the Sunnah, so if differing was from the Deen then he would not have dispraised it, and if differing was from the legislation then He would not have ordered them to return back to the Book and the Sunnah)) (Jaami’ Bayaan al-‘Ilm wa Fadhlihi (2/910))

This is why Ameer al-Mu’mineen fil Hadeeth, Aboo Abdillaah Muhammad bin Ismaa’eel al-Bukhaaree recorded the chapter in his Saheeh:

    باب كراهية الاختلاف

    ((The repugnance of differing))

And Aboo Daawood as-Sijistaanee reported in his Sunan (No.644) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

    لا تختلفوا فتختلف قلوبكم

((Do not differ for your hearts will differ))

Ibn Qutaybah mentioned in his Ta’weel Mukhtalif al-Hadeeth (22) that Ibn Mas’ood (رضي الله عنه) said:

    الخلاف شر

    ((Differing is evil))

((The Messenger of Allaah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) drew a line for us and then said, "This is Allaah's Path." Then he drew lines to its right and its left, and said, "These are differing paths, upon each of them there is a Shaytaan (devil) calling to it." Then he recited, "And verily this is My Path, so follow it, and do not follow other paths for they will separate you away from His Path)) (Sunan ad-Daarimee, (204). An-Nasaa'ee, Ahmad and al-Haakim also reported it)

the Hadeeth of 'Irbaadh ibn Saariyyah is also narrated as such:

    من يعش منكم فسيرى اختلافاً كثيراً، وإيّاكم ومحدثات الأمور، فإنها ضلالةٌ، فمن أدركَ ذلكَ منكم فعليكم بسنتي وسنة الخلفاءِ الرّاشدينَ عضوا عليها بالنواجذِ

((Whoever amongst you lives long after me will see a lot of differences, and beware of the newly invented matters, for they are deviance, and those who reach that from you, then upon you is my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Khulafaah, hold fast to it with your molar teeth)) (This Hadeeth is Saheeh. Shaykh Saleem al-Hilaalee records the Takhreej of this Hadeeth and mentioned: It was reported by Aboo Daawood (4607) and at-Tirmidhee (2676) and Ibn Maajah (43 and 44) from way of 'Abdur-Rahmaan bin 'Amro as-Sullamee and he is a Taabi'ee and Ibn Hibbaan recorded him as Trustworthy (Thiqaat) and there are many other chains of narration of this Hadeeth and it is affirmed as trustworthy.)

Islaam is the Qur'aan and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Prophet salallaahu alaihi wa salam and his companions.

Allaah says in Surah al-Nisaa: 115:

    وَمَنْ يُشَاقِقْ الرَّسُولَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ الْهُدَى وَيَتَّبِعْ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ نُوَلِّهِ مَا تَوَلَّى وَنُصْلِهِ جَهَنَّمَ وَسَاءَتْ مَصِيراً

((And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other than the believers' way. We shall keep him in the path he has chosen, and burn him in h**l - what an evil destination))

The word here used, is "يشاقق" means contradicts. Allaah did not say "من يخالف" "Whoever differs", but He said who ever goes against and contradicts the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم).

And "The Believers" in his Ayah is specific to the Sahaabah. This is seen in the wording: "المؤمنين" because the definitive article "al" refers to a specific group of people and they are those who follow the Sharee'ah upon the correct understanding.

And with this we can establish that the companions of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), May Allaah have mercy upon them, are of a higher status than those who came after them.

  10. Well, I do not believe in sects at all. I believe in the Islam preached by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). He was not Sunni neither s**+'a nor Wahabi etc. He was a Muslim.

    As Quran says:

"Hold fast the rope of Allah and do not make sects." 3:103

    The rope of Allah is

3:32 Say: “Pay heed unto God and the Apostle.” And if they turn away - verely, God does not love those who deny the truth."

There is no mention of x,y,z scholars. We are not allowed to be devided at all. If we do, we will be punished.

3:105 "And be not like those who have drawn apart from one another and have taken to conflicting views after all evidence of the truth has come unto them: for these it is for whom tremendous suffering is in store"

6:159 VERILY, as for those who have broken the unity of their faith and have become sects - thou hast nothing to do with them. Behold, their case rests with God: and in time He will make them understand what they were doing.

    Hope I cleared my point.

  11. There is nothing wrong in having a variety or differences in opinion and interpretation.  I think variety and differences are the spice of life, we are human after all, not robots.  I agree it's rather obnoxious to see the extra bashing lately, it really does a disservice to Muslims and Islam and I feel sorry that they can't see that.  It's as if they are pushing people away and reinforcing stereotypes with their constant bickering rather than welcoming and educating.  Sad.  These kids need to think a little of consequences before they post their rants.
