When are cats fully grown?

My two adorable kittens are 16 weeks old now and growing fast as expected. They're already quite big although their mother was quite small. At what age do they reach their full size?

Also, how old should cats be when you change from kitten to adult food? Not planning on doing it right now, I'm just asking for future reference.

It depends really on what breed of cat you have as all cats vary in their development period, such as Maine Coons, Ragdolls, Norwegian Forest Cats and Siberian Forest Cats take upto the age of 4-5 years to reach full maturity. But, in general, cats take 18-24 months to reach full size, weight and maturity.

Kittens can be kept on kitten food until they are 12 months old, but make sure that when it comes time to start introducing them to a good quality adult wet food, make sure you do it slowly over 2-3 weeks adding a small amount of adult mixed into the kitten food and increasing the adult food gradually until only adult food is given. Quick changes in food can bring on upset tummies and possible diarrhoea.

Your kittens sound adorable and you made a fantastic choice by having two at the same time as they will be great company for each other whenever the human members of the family are out for the day.

Kittens should be on kittens food until they reach 1 year old - thats when their classed as 'adult'.

Full size is reached at 2, and you should feed them kitty food till then. Good Luck!

They keep growing until about two.  I would stop feeding them kitten food between six-nine months.

After two they will start to fill out.  They are all generally really skinny until about two, then they start to put meat on their bones.

when they stop loving you and dont wanna play no more and dont look innocent no more :D cats are users, if you think about it and watch closely... the cat only ever wants you when its hungry or wants to use your house to sleep, the rest of the time there out, doing the same thing in other peoples houses.

Its different with different breeds. But with cross-breeds the male finishes growing at 1yr and female 6mths. Put them on adult food around 1yr old.
