VB's answer is essentially correct, but I'll add this to it. If the scheduled time for a stimulus payment has passed, then it will be sent about a week after the return has processed. If not, it will be sent according the the schedule.

Nobody knows for sure.

If you filed right around 4/15, probably the end of July or early August.

In normal years, you'd see that your payment was cashed (which merely means the envelope was opened) and never wonder if that meant your tax return was completely processed or not.  This year, with the stimulus check, everybody wants to know.

The IRS classifies incoming tax returns as refunds or balance dues.  The refund returns are processed first (so the government can avoid paying interest) and the balance due returns are processed on a space available basis.  That means last....  While the government tries to process refunds within 6-8 weeks, there is actually no stated time frame for non-refund returns.

You will get the rebate check when you get it.  Never count on money that is not in your account.  Be patient.
