When are pacific parrotlets fully weaned? 6weeks?

also when bringing them home do you leave them in the cage to get settled in our do you take them out after a few hours and let them get used to you?

  1. When a bird is fledged, meaning feathers, flying and eating seed on his own. That is the time to bring him home. I would let him be for a few days. Talk to him gently, then eventually put your hand in for a few days till he is used to you. Then push gently on his chest and see if he will step up on your finger. Say "step up" when you want him to step on your finger.  Patience and being gentle and quiet are the best ways to go. Remember Parrotlets can bite just like the rest.
