  1. When the waitress or waiter only comes to the table when you first set down and the reappears when it is time to hand you the bill.  Also, when they keep filling up the glass of the person you are eating with and forget you are even setting there.

  2. I always leave a tip, but I might only leave a dollar if the service was terrible. On the other hand if the service was wonderful I'll leave a large tip and even write thank you or something else nice on the ticket that I leave with the waitress.

  3. NEVER TIP NEVER SUBSIDISE THE BOSSES RESPONSIBILITY  THEY SHOULD PAY PROPER WAGES

  4. When you find a roach in your food and the waiter tells you he will pay you ten bucks to eat it.

  5. when the waiter is a jerk and they are rude and they arnt freindly...or as my friend says if they sneeze in your food. anything that isnt nice.

  6. I never leave a tip unless I get exceptional polite service.

  7. DirecTV installers

  8. Take outs and drive thru.

  9. I think only if the service is really slow/bad.  You have to remember that some of the time it isn't your waitress/waiters fault.

  10. If your waiter/waitress is not putting forth good hospitality, or the service is not what it's supposed to be. Don't tip.

  11. Almost all of the vacation hotels add the tip to the tab. They don't wait for you to pay they just add it to your tab. I don't like that because if you have not so good service from the waiter or waitress they've already taken your money!! You have no choice about it.

Otherwise, I do not leave a tip if the table person was rude. Most of the time they are just fine. So I usually leave a good tip. Mostly because some of my associates do not leave any thing at all when we go out for a meal. I can't see being that mean. They are the ones who always ask for more of this and a refill and so on so forth. You know the ones who make the table person work for real!!

  12. At the circus!

  13. I am a waitress and I wouldn't expect a tip if

1~) I spilt food on you

    2) was rude to you

    3) you had to wait a long time and was not informed about this

    4) i spat in your drink

    5) I overcharged you!

  14. It's all about service

  15. If the waiter is rude to you or is giving you attitude.

  16. Tips stands for "To insure proper service". So if you get good service, then tip. If the waitress ignores you and/or has an attitude, then don't tip.

I have to admit about the "bad food answers". It's not the waitresses fault if you didn't like the food or it wasn't cooked to your liking. The waitress didn't cook the food. However, if you had a problem with your food and the waitress didn't do anything, then it is her fault. It is the waitresses job to make sure everything is ok, and if you don't like the food, then she should try to rectify the problem. But if you order a tuna sandwich and you don't like tuna, that's not our stupidity. It's yours.

  17. Look on the bill, in the small print it may say gratuities included. You don't need to leave one then.

  18. WHEN you have just had dinner at your "in-laws" house?

  19. when your waitress only comes back to hand you the bill i hate that i leave a penny just to be rude back to them

  20. 1 - when the service is terrible or slow.

2 - when the food is bad.

3 - when the waiter/waitress has an attitude.

  21. I never ever give tips period.

Taxi drivers in London over charge, why tip these already over supeanuated greedy pigs?

Likewise waiters where the restaurant has added a charge - eg 10% for table or even worse 12%.

    No tip.

    STOP TIPPING

Far too many of us believe that waiting staff rely on tips.  They do not.  In addition to earing at least the minimum wage of about £5.50 per hour they get add ons like free meals which alone must be worth £100 or more a week.

Don't make me laff!  and what about all those bags of food they get to take home?

    Yeah and mo!

Don't you think it's time there was CCTV in the kitchens with view screens where the customers can see who's spitting in the soup?

  22. If the food and service has been exceptional, then I would consider leaving a tip, otherwise I feel that what I am being charged is sufficient.

After all, the waiter/waitresses are being paid a wage, and if they are only on minimum wage and rely on tips that is there choice to work in that trade.

  23. When the food and/or service doesn't merit it.

A "tip" is a way of saying "Thank you".

  24. Bad service and/or bad food !

  25. Parking ticket

  26. 1. Bad Service

    2. Bad Food

    3. Snotty Attitude by waitress

    4. Wait for a table for a long time, and get served in a long time

    5. Grocery Store

    6. Other businesses

    7. When your wife insists on paying for it after you pay the bill

    8. At a bar where the drinks are watered down- in this case though you could pay the bar keeper extra under the table for stronger drinks.

    9. FINALLY - some times on Q&A when give some one a tip and they ignore it!!

  27. if the server is rude, or unattentive.

  28. When your waiter/waitress doesn't serve you adequately, you shouldn't leave a tip (or if you do, leave a small one instead of the standard full tip).

One example would be if your server begins the night by coming around to your table frequently to offer refills or to take empty dishes away from your table, but as the night goes on, he/she makes visits less frequently. This can be annoying, as it's happened to my family on several occasions at certain restaurants. If the restaurant is busy, then it may be understandable; but if there aren't many people at the restaurant, then there is no excuse for their actions.

Of course the main reason not to leave a tip would be rudeness on their part.
