When are the Horse Races what is the best way to pick your horse?

By name? By number? By odds? By Jockey? By trainer? By owner? By dam luck?

the best thing is to watch the pre-race just before racetime to look at the horses before they get on the track. If they are overexcited, they will probably not get out of the gate fast because they are worrying about something else. You want to look for a horse who has it's ears up and is walking calmly and  goes into the gate easily. But you also want to look at gate placement and who the jockey is and if he has a good reputation. You can see all of this before during the pre-race when the horses are getting tacked up and the jockey' s are getting ready.

Also the odds do help some of the time, but not all the time. Odds are just the people's favorite and who most people are betting on. You might also want to look at the horse's racing background. See if it is a sprinter or a long distancer. Another clue, might be to look at the sire and dam.(father and mother) of the horse to see if it has good lineage.

look at the odds, the jockey and the trainer. these are really important. the jockey and trainer are main though. odds tell you what people think. the jockey and trainer are what we KNOW are to do with thew horse. see?

i owuld say whichever looks more healthy,

i had that problem too, but like 2 other ones were sick, and 1 had a bad trainer, name doesnt matter, its just what they name them, owner doesnt matter either, they could just be retarded and rich and own a horse, i would say is luck:)

if you do not use stats to pick your horses. then odds is the next best method.  :)

the best way to pick the horse is to look at them before the race, if the horse is already sweating its normally not a good choice because it may be nervous or anxious. Also look for the horse with the best conformation, meaning long legs, porportional body nice sized feet
