  1. Threat level would be too high.  Those countries are stock full of extremists.

  2. lol I'd like to see what'll happen to the women beach volley players.

  3. You know the winter games of 1984 were held in Sarajevo, a mainly muslim town even back then.

  4. You have GOT to be kidding.  It would be wayyyy too stifling HOT to have the Olympics in any of those countries.

Imagine running a marathon in a desert?  Yikes!

  5. probably not 4 a very long time. I think the worlds to afraid to do it soon which is really sad. Maybe when tererisom stops then. Also I think the athletes clothes would brake culture.

  6. Doha is a good choice if Olympic is ever going to be held in a Muslim nation unless Dubai catches up by speeding up sporting infrastructure.

Politically, America does have a say in this matter so until they say yes...

  7. I don't think this will ever happen.

  8. As soon as the threat of extremism is dealt with thoroughly and completely stamped out. Until the threat of violence from extremists is obliterated, I'm sure the Western world will continue to have objections against having the olympics in a Muslim nation.

  9. Egypt maybe, but non of the others. The athletes may be a little self-concious.

  10. It wouldn't suit my lobby to make beer drinking an Olympic sport! Silly question though cause unless you are psychic who knows the answer to that question? Having said that, the Olympics these days appears to be for only those countries that can AFFORD IT! So Dubai must be up soon...

  11. when the women athletes can be assured their safety and well

being will in no way be compromised because of their clothing.

  12. Doha in Qatar had initially bid to host the 2016 games but didn't make the short list.  One would assume they would also go for 2020.  Having visited a couple of times personally I think it would be a good olympic host city, as long as they don't hold the games in the middle of summer when it gets ridiculously hot!  Great infrastructure, genuine commitment to hosting major events, and keen to build a bridge between the islamic and western worlds.
