When are the biggest sale dates in the us?

Can somebody tell me please when are the most important dates to go shopping in the US (besides Black Friday). I am planning a trip for next year to NY. Thanks

Actually depends on what you are looking to to buy. Other than Black Friday there are deep discounts around August on children/teen merchandise due to back to school. January 6 - 20 is also a good time for deep discounts because Christmas has passed and Memorial Day is a long way off. Vendors are usually wanting to unload merchandise to make way for spring items at this time.
