The next Presidential Preference Election will be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November 2008. That will be followed by the vote of the Electoral College during its meeting in December of 2008. The results of the Electoral College vote will be transmitted to the Clerk of the House of Representives and will be read into the Congressional Record on the first week of January 2009. The new President and Vice President will be sworn into office at 12 Noon, Eastern time, on January 20, 2009.
