Just wondered if anyone knows when it is busiest in France, i.e when are their bank holidays. We are going to the Futuroscope park whilst we are on holiday in a couple of weeks and a website said that during French peak holiday times the queues are huge and I hoped anyone could help us avoid the worst of it.

  1. Right now I'm afraid.

Lokk up 'tripadvisor' website for other travellers comments

    Bon chance !

  2. The school holidays finish on 3rd September (ie all children return to school on Tuesday 4th September.

The very busiest time lasts until 19th August, and then the two weeks after that should be a little quieter, and from 4th September it will be pretty much exclusively tourists who are there during the week.

  3. July 14 (Bastille Day) thru August 15

  4. Bonjour ! the most busy holiday time here in France is between mid july till the 3rd week of August !

and then, after the children are back at school on the first week of september, then it's radically much quieter and no queue anywhere ! especially for the futuroscope in Poitiers.

if you can delay your visit, do so !

    Bonnes vacances !

  5. School holidays are July & August.  Families often go on holiday for a whole month, either all July or all August.  There's a holiday on 15 August - as it's a Wednesday, there's less chance of people taking an extra day (eg, holiday on Thurs, so also taking Friday gives a long weekend).

Futuroscope is brilliant.  Arrive early and plan well, using the programme, which will give times of showings at the different pavilions.   Pick up headsets for English translation, as required.

Allow time to walk between pavilions and join those waiting for next showing - you usually cannot enter once a film has started.  Have an alternative show planned (time & location), in case you cannot get into your first choice.

Dynamic rides (where your seat moves corresponding to the film - eg a runaway train) are great, as are 3-D films.

  6. From around the 14th July to the 15th August approx
