When are the people of America going to start buying American made products????

As soon as they start selling them.

Where can I buy them?

Really.....where can you find American Made......let's say clothes..............Macy's has none......JC Penney.....nothing......Lord and Taylor..............nothing.

We don't have many stores where I live.

The problem about this country is everyone is trying to SAVE MONEY and who can blame them?

Two pairs of sunglasses you spot in a store exactly the same. The difference? One made by cheap labor or mass produced in elsewhere and one made in the U.S that costs $3.00 more.

Choice? The cheaper one.

It's not that people are negligible about their country. For example I bought a Ford recently because it was a U.S car. I KNEW that Ford was an American Car manufacturer. I didn't know Sunukasi was a Chinese sunglass manufacturer.

I COMPLETELY second the first answer.  

And some Americans already do.  Ironically, the people who pretend to be the most patriotic, with the flag outside their house, who call people of different races and ethnicities insulting names are the ones perpetuating this cycle of globalized consumption (great example is by going to wal-mart).  

I try to buy American made and fair labor/fair wage whenever possible.

The problem is that American workers want to be paid a livable wage. They want health insurance and retirement benefits. The companies can pay someone in China next to nothing and not have to give them any benefits and get the same product. That is the sad fact. Its hard to find American made products.

The recent increase in the price of fuel will have an effect on where we buy our manufactured products. As was stated by most of the previous answers, there is not much manufacturing going on here in America. Apparently a change is in the works as it now is costing more to transport the products all the way from China.

Keep your eyes open. America may become a manufacturing location again after years of cheap imports that don't last and are not helpful to the American economy.

The people of America will start buying American made products when our economy gets so bad that we have no choice.

Basically, there will be a point in which buying products over sea gets too expensive, or companies whose products are assembled overseas to be sold here are costing them too much and they will begin to assemble them here at home.

In one aspect, this will be good for us in turn, because needing to assemble things here means more jobs for American's rather than low payed foreigners oversea.
