  1. It depends on whether the herd is spring calvers or autumn calvers, and which hemisphere you're in.

Joining: 9 months before the start of calving, ususally for a 6 to 8 week peeriod.

Weaning: 9 months old is pretty reasonable, as it gives the cow a chance to rest before her next calf. Some farms will attempt to do this earlier.

Vaccination:  It depends what you're vaccinating for. Usually one at the time of marking (round them all up and tag them) and two months later, and at 1 year old. Some farms will also vaccinate the cows yearly a month before the start of calving.

Drenching: First drench is often mid spring or early winter (depending on whether it's a spring or autun calving herd respectively) and will vary depending on the parasite problem of the property.

Dipping: i don't know any cattle property that still does dipping. But many will use pour-on treatments instead. Generally at the same time as drenching or vaccination.

Dehorning: As young as possible, suggested less than 3 months, same as castration.

  2. google " raising cattle"  and it will bring up books and articles that you can read and find the answers you want.  You need to find the info yourself to learn anything. dont rely on others
