Question:

When are they discontinuen polaroide film?

I heard August, and then heard 2009, is this true? If so I need to be stocking up.

  1. At present the most I know of is the Type 669 and the 4x5" formats that FujiFilm is definitely supporting.  They haven't come out and said that they will or will not make a substitute for the type 600 film.


  2. The official announcement was for the end of this year ... so that would be Dec, 2008.  That is the last of the manufacturing of the product (consumer), so you should be able to find some on the shelves for a while after that.

    NOTE:  I was wrong ... see below:

    Fuji will still be manufacturing the professional line of instant film under license to Polaroid at least for the near future.  I am sure they will make an announcement at some point, but for now film for use with pro backs is still available
