When are we going to be able to time travel????

and what about that whole 2012 hype?? i dont think its the end of the world but im starting to think its the year when time travel will be invented...what do you think???

Time travel is a fantasy. Time is not one of the spatial dimensions, so you cannot move in it as toy do in space.

We will never be able to time travel.  If we were ever to develop the ability in the future, there would be time travellers coming back to our time, already.

Anything is possible. I agree that the world will probably not end but I do not think we will perfect time travel by then. I base my answer on how long it has taken us to develop the technology we have now.

Do me a favor, if we do perfect time travel, please come back in time and let me know I was wrong.

2012 will be just another year.  It will be the end of the world for the couple hundred million people who will die.  But everyone else will be fine.

I certainly hope time travel is impossible. For example there would be serious changes in the timeline if meddling time travelers prevented the assassination of President Teddy Roosevelt.

Without the assassination of Roosevelt,  His Great American Moon Cannon might never have been built and the Great American Space Empire might never have come into existence.  Try to imagine America and the rest of the rest of its vassal states without the resources of the Martian colonies and the trade from Epsilon Eridani,  Tau Ceti and the rest of the American Galaxy.   Not to mention the tribute we receive from the worlds of the Rigelian Concourse.

We all ready time travel. We are moving slowly into the future. But seriously, who knows what we will be able to do in 50 years, 500 years etc. I read in the news this week that the USA (funded by government) are another step closer to an invisibility cloak that bends light around the subject. Who would of thought that possible even 30 years ago?

Time travel was invented in 2012 by a bunch of evil greedy people who wanted to make money by scaring people in the past into believing the world will end in 2012. Given the number of people buying into it, I have to say that's clever marketing.

we will never time travel, einstein said it was impossible, however he said we could take a peek which would be we can look and foresee, and predict, and even something like a time window, but we cannot breack it to cross it

also about 2012 the consensus is that in 2012 we will pass through the galaxy plane which will knok a few or a lot comets towards the sun (with us in the way) wich may kill us, however there is no guarantee that we wont survive our pass through the plane of the galaxy

We should have time travel by, oh, about yesterday.  Seriously, not everything is possible just because we can imagine it.  Our current models of physics suggest that time-travel is not possible no matter how clever we are.  So no one is really working on the problem earnestly; we're working on problems that can be solved.

There's nothing magic about the year 2012, and no credible evidence that any sudden destruction will befall Earth.  It's just what some people have read into old writings in order to get themselves some attention.

You can travel in time. In fact you are doing it now. If you would like to see into the past, take a look outside on any clear night. For example, you can go out and look at the star Arcturus and see it as it appeared about 37 years ago. This fall you can take a look at the Orion Nebula and see it as it appeared about 1500 years ago.

So when you look at Arcturus, you can say, "Hey, The Doors just put out 'Riders on the Storm'" :))

Or when looking at Orion Nebula..."Wow, this year (508 A.D.) the Roman Colosseum was damaged by an earthquake!"
