  1. Have you any particular population in mind or justing thinning in general?

  2. you better pray there will never be another world war for any reason as you may not like the results . Why not join the military and find out first hand.I am not putting you down but having served my own country & as a soldier of fortune, I can tell you war is not a good thing.

  3. We aren't.

wars don't thin the population anymore; anything that would put a large enough dent in the worldwide population would damage the chances of survival of everyone who lived (like nuclear or biological weapons). and more conventional conflicts have none of the effect you're thinking of, or adverse effects as well.

Look at Iraq; not to belittle the seriousness of it, but compared to other serious conflicts of the 20th century, it hasn't reduced the population of either the Iraqis or the occupation forces. Nor, in any productive way, did WW1 and 2 'thin the population'. The Great war caused so much land loss that, however many died, it would have been counterproductive, because growing land was rendered unusable, and because many who died would otherwise have been industrial or agricultural workers  and the second world war was a drain on so many economies world wide that the loss of life was offset by the period of stagnation that follows so many wars, when the economy has to deal with a loss of need for one industry and a surplus of labour as a result,  and by the growth in the birth rate at home.

Furthermore, wouldn't wars be followed by an upsurge in population anyway? when an environment has been thinned of competition, the animals that live there will start to breed in greater numbers, because there are fewer organisms that would consume the same resources (food, space and energy for us)

  4. What do you think is going on now.

  5. even through the first and second world wars the population of the world continued to climb.

  6. Possibly on Xbox 360, the Wii, or the PS3.

  7. 2012
