  1. All that "professional" means is that you do it for a career/to make money.  When you get to the point where you dance for a living, then you will be a professional dancer.

  2. First of all i love cheerleaders and i have nothing against them but you need to chose dance or cheer. Because eventually when you  have a ballet or modern performance your happy bouncy cheer leader personality will show through when you need to have emotions. But you are a professional dancer once you have an agent and are dancing for professional choreographers and things like that. But if you want to do cheer and dance than you are a professional when you dance/cheer for a college/nba basketball team or football team. I Hope I Helped=]

  3. When you are getting paid for a real job.

  4. A professional gets paid.  That is the sole, complete and total difference.  It has nothing to do with quality, time, training, etc.

  5. When you're getting paid for it. There's no level of competence at which you automatically become a professional.  It's quite possible to be an exceptional hobby dancer, or to be a professional who can barely dance.

  6. when you are in the most advanced class. and ballet is spelled b-a-l-l-e-t.
