When are you old enough to get contacts instead of glasses?

I was 16 when I started wearing lenses.  Not sure if there is a minimum age. As long as u can be responsible to care for them properly as u are at risk of eye infections.

Depends on the eye doctor. Mine says around 8 yrs you're mature, but I find that too young I'd say around 10-11 yrs old

This really depends on how responsible a person is rather than their age.  The youngest person I knew of was 10 when they got contact lenses.  Contact lenses require additional care to ensure they are properly cleaned, worn, and stored.  The wearer also needs to follow the advice of the prescriber.

I know some adults who get eye infections on a regular basis because they do not properly care for their eyes and lenses.  There are children and teens who take better care of their eyes.
