Question:

When are you too young to be watching Death Note? (I'm not talking about the single digit ages)?

I was wondering about pre-teens. I just found out that my 11 year old sister and some of her friends are starting to get into the series...and it kind of surprised me, because (knowing my sister) I never thought she'd ever get interested in an anime that's so dark, or have the patience to sit through its storyline. (It's not always a piece of cake to follow.)

How popular is Death Note among children who are younger than 13?

  1. Hmm... I mean.... it's not really all that violent or all that "mature".

Most of my friend's younger siblings like it.... and I know for a fact that kids who ARE 13 are into it. ^^

I really think there IS no age for Death Note cause it's an awesome Anime... My friend's bro is 10 and he's into it already ^^... so it really shouldn't be a problem for your sister to watch it. ._.

But that's just my opinion. =D

  2. well it's rated as for ppl 17+ ok it's not that violent or anything, but there are some ideas that maybe are not good for small kidz to know since they are easily influenced n so, u know in japan there were some cases of murder like if it was done with death note, however i dunno were culprits adults, youth or kids, however it's not the main issue, maybe your sister just won't get it much anywayz so maybe it won't be big deal if she watches it..well dunno

  3. Well I know my cousin who is 11 years old like your sister watches it. I mean its not really that violent with knives getting thrown everywhere and heads getting sliced off! lol. Sure theres a little bit of blood but not that much. I say that if your sister is mature enough to handle stuff like that then its okay for her to watch it. Plus it's not like an 11 year old is going to be the next Light/Kira anytime soon! And I think it's better if she watched a show like that rather than Gossip Girl or The Hills. Im glad she's into it though and glad she's watching it with a couple of her friends so if she gets confused she can ask them what the heck is going on, or you if you've seen it.

    :-P

  4. If they're liking it at 11, I think that's okay, as long as you don't think they have any mental health concerns. Any younger and I might wonder. I'd say 13 is the safest age. But if it's a group of them, it's probably for the better.

  5. death note is a very popular series among pre teens--adults as well.
