  1. this is more of a philosophical question as opposed to a blatant "why do you want to work here"

    possible good answers might include:

!.  (like the previous persons post, to strengthen your financial position in life is a real good one

    2.  you like to learn new things and you feel that working there would be beneficial to growth as a person.

    3.  this looks like a good place to work, the people look friendly, the environment is positive, and you have heard good things about the place so you thought it might be a good fit for you and your personality

    Good luck

  2. Actually it is a trick question...Most interviewing questions are.  You simply say

Well of course I would like to work for your company for financial reasons, to help me gain a more stable financial situation for myself.  I also prefer the retail environment because I am a people person and love to interact and be able to communicate with the public. I perfer being on my feet and being able to walk around and help others with their needs instead of being stuck behind a desk.

They are looking for an honest answer...Its not so much the answers they are looking for. It is how you present yourself..

You can simply say.. I need money and I dont' want to be lazy...which is basically the same thing I said above. Its the way you say it that impresses them. They do not want one word answers. They want you to be able to express yourself and think fast on your feet.
