  1. You did not mention which river,  not all rivers follow the rrr rule.  Some rivers have mid channel markers. You need to get a chart for the river in question to be sure.  You should have a chart on board for any waters you navigate anyway. A few bucks spent on charts and a little time planning can save a major repair bill.
