When booking hotels on Asiarooms.com...?

Question

can you change the reservation dates free of charge when you get to the hotel? I know there is a fee to make changes through the website, but what about when I get there? I want to book in advance, but my plans may change later.

PS this is for phuket, in case that matters.

Most likely not without penalty, Asiarooms clearly states on their website that if you cancel less than seven days before your confirmed dates, you will be charged one nights stay. They also state that the hotel's policy always supercedes Asiarooms policy. It sounds like you'll need to find out what the hotel's policy for cancellation is and discuss it with Asiarooms to find out exactly what you'll be charged. It's usually not a good idea to book rooms ahead of time and then cancel at the last minute, either with websites like Asiarooms or with a hotel directly, you'll almost always lose in the end.

What you are doing is locking in asiarooms rates with a discounter, Tui Travel Plc or AsiaRooms.com.  They negotiated the rate and it is unknown to the front desk.  So, to change the length of your stay is dependent on the hotel policy.  If you are staying shorter, they may give you a credit or report it to Asiarooms.com

If you are extending your stay, then you would have to negotiate that with Asiarooms.com or book an additional reservation if the room is available at the rate you booked.

So, if you want flexibility check the hotel's website and see what the rack rate is.  And if you willing to pay for it if there are rooms available.
