When brewing water drips into k-cup and comes out...

Question

When we brew coffee, water drips weakly through into k-cup. At the same time water is discharged through what the manual calls the "vent" into the reservoir. The "vent" looks like a very small, white spout over the reservoir. Thanks for any help!
