I want to make a straw bale wall in my garage but can't figure out what plaster to put on it. I'm thinking about putting pottery plaster on it. Would this work? Here's a link to what i'm looking at: http://www.texaspottery.com/acatalog/1_Pottery_Plaster.html

I'm really just trying to find the cheapest way to seal the bale walls. Trying to find supplies on this is pretty difficult.

  1. Absolutely NOT.  I wouldn't suggest a strawbale wall in your garage if you have the water heater out there.  Too much chance of a fire, and straw burns fast!!!

Besides, you will be losing a good 18 inches of floor space, for the thickness of the bale.  Consult your building code, you might not be able to divide your garage, even with a standard wall made of drywall and 2x4's.
