When buying college textbooks does copyright matter?

I am buying my books from half.com and they are all the correct edition but some will have different copyrights. For example, it says I need an editon 8 copyright 2008. Is it ok to have edition 8 with a copyright of 2007? Thanks.

yes it is fine, the same book could have been released in 07 and 08.  It should be no problem
