For example, I bought tylenol for $8.00 but I had a $2.00 coupon. Can I claim it for $8.00 or $6.00?

  1. Your receipt is going to show the actual cost (after the discount) that is the amount you would charge to your FSA account.

  2. Usually you fax in a copy of the receipt for the transaction with the price circled, if you circle $8.00 most likely that is what they will pay you. If they catch that you only paid $6.00 they will make the adjustment and pay you $6.00.

FYI a lot of stores are now placing a total at the bottom of the receipt for eligible expenses.

  3. $6.  You can only claim for what you SPENT.  Not the "list price" of the medication.

  4. i am not aware abou this
