if I were you, try getting a calling card, its much cheaper!!

I have friends there, Guyana charges a stiff tariff on overseas calls....

Dial 011+ 592 + (City Code) + (NUMBER).  But don't call Guyana direct unless you want to spend a lot of money.  Use a calling card or a prepaid phone service instead.

To call a non NANPA number (North American Numbering Plan Area), you must dial 011 for international Long Distance plus the country code plus the city code and the line number.

In North America, the format (1)NXX-NXX-XXXX is only vaild inside the region (CA, US, and Carribean areas). Use Google to determine the country code for Guyana (which is 592) so to call them, its 011+592+number.
