  1. I did art time for my boys when they were little. We had the paper out and I'd ask them what color they wanted next. I'd hold up the crayons and repeat which one was which until they knew what to ask for.

Crayola now makes these cute crayon like things for the tub that would be fun too.

  2. You can teach her/him in everyday interaction.  Her shoes, his clothes, their favorite toy, ball or stuffed animal even counting,  They learn through play and repetitivness. If you keep up with colors and numbers they will learn same with the sign language.  I gave up on mine when she was 12 months then all the sudden she was doing the milk sign.  Its amazing and we dont give them enough credit.

  3. Color days were you both are maybe your whole house wear the that color all day and eat that color foods and paint with that color...etc

you can even make the bath water colored for a fanale

    good luck

  4. Include stuff like this in everyday conversations.  Look at the ball.  The ball is red.  Red ball.  See the swimming pool.  The water is blue.  Blue water.  Shapes and numbers, even letters can and should be included in everyday activities.  That is what we did with our kids.  It's easier than sitting down and pushing it.  Get puzzles with shapes and colors - she can probably start those around 18 months.
