When can I brush my teeth again after having a molar extracted?

I had a molar extracted on 8/25/08. It's now the next day and my teeth are feeling a little hairy and I really want to brush them. Is it ok to brush them yet? My dentist said not to rinse my mouth for 24 hours and it's been 24 hours. I just wanted some other opinions before I put brush to teeth.

  1. BRUSH! lightly, but if you dont the area can get infected!

  2. you can brush after 24 hrs.

brush with your left hand if you are right handed and right if you are left handed. hold the toothbrush like a pencil not like a child holding a fork.

it feels really strange, but it keeps you from brushing too hard.

  3. Hey

    Yes .

I just got both my top premolars out yesterday..Hurt a fair bit.

I cant go a day without brushing.

Just brush around it, and make sure you brush as many teeth as possible ;)

Make sure you don't touch the gap with the brush, hurts a bit.

  4. There is a lot of information about this on http://www.teethwhiteningrevies.com

  5. Follow your dentist's advice.  Brush gently for the next few days, especially around the extraction site.

  6. When I had mine out, they said I could brush them after 24 hours. So yes, you can brush them and rinse with warm salt water!
