I am on the pill but have been thinking about coming off it to try for a baby and because I wouldn't mind being pregnant although am not officially trying I haven't been taking the pill regularly. I have missed 5 pills in this pack (3 were missed last weekend as I went away with bf and also had a lot of s*x then). My question is is there much chance I could be pregnant missing 2 days earlier in my pill pack and then missing 3 pills in a row? Also because I am on the pill I don't have a period due date so when will the test work if I do it? My bf lives away so it was only between the 18th and 20th that I had s*x - can anyone calculate what date a test will be reliable from that? My pack finishes tommorrow and I would expect my withdrawl bleed to be on 3rd August.

  1. I would say that 2 weeks after you had s*x would be a good time to test.  Since you've missed so many days, I would consider stopping the pill.....at least for this pack.  If you wanted to get back on w/the next cycle then go ahead.

Depending on which specific days you missed your pill, it's possible that you could be pregnant.  I would say wait another week, then take a test.  Best of luck and lots of baby dust!

  2. ok i tried to check on an ovulation caculator which tells you when you should be ovulating and i used a 28 day cycle it says that thoughs would be your most fertile days. but its not for sure since i don't know your exact day. try to do it your self on babycenter.com and go to ovulation calculator..

  3. my friends doctor told her to test 19 days after intercourse to get the right answer as she was on the pill aswell and forgot it a few times and as you know the last times you had intercourse i would go from there

  4. do a test today !! They have them in the drugstore that say within 24 hrs now but thet are expensive $20 and up. Clinic tomorrow could save you a few bucks with truer returns.

  5. there is always a chance you could be pregnant if you missed pills. i would say test 2 weeks after you last had s*x, this will give any possible fertilised egg to implant and start producing enough pregnancy hormones to show up. My hubby and I are currently trying and i have been off the pill completely for about 5 months now and i havent got pregnant yet, and i have been monitoring to track my most fertile time of the month, but everyone is different. What i would say though is if you want to get pregnant, stop taking the pill totally as it can cause mis carriage.

  6. Because home pregnancy tests detect hCG, it is best to collect urine samples containing the highest presence of the hCG hormone. Diluted samples (from drinking high volumes of water / frequent urination) are not recommended and can diminish test accuracy. Instead, first morning urine is considered the ideal sample as it contains the most concentrated presence of hCG. Otherwise, waiting several hours after last urinating to take a test.
