Hello,

I have not missed a pd. yet, however, I think I may be preggers. :)Either that, or I am getting sick. Anyways... Symptoms I have are light headedness,Headaches(Which are rare for me) nausa in the morning, and around food or strong oders.I also feel like I am going to fall over I am so tired, and i had a spot of blood in my undies about a week ago.

I tested this morning, but it came up neg. Like I said, I have not missed a pd. yet, I am expecting one in about a week or so.I tried the one that is supposed to catch the hormone before a missed pd. I looked on the directions for when to test again, but I couldn't find it.Do I wait a week? Or a few days? When should I attempt it again?

Thanks in advance!

  1. Because you are expecting one in a week it means your period is still about 5+days away right?

A pregnancy won't detect if your pregnant yet because it's too soon.

You should try and re-test in 4 days and see the result.

You shuld use an early detection pregnancy test and test using first morning urine.

The longer you wait to take a test the better as if you are pregnant you will have more hcg in your urine and will give you a better result on a pregnancy test.

It is best to wait until you have missed your period because hcg is higher then.

  2. i would take it a week after the day you are supposed to start and good luck.

  3. The ones i have done i have done them the day i am supposed to begin my period which it says. You should either do them every week or every month depends how worried you are but the best thing is to go to the doctors. Thats what i do! good luck. x

  4. If you haven't missed a period yet than it is odd that you are having all of the symptoms, most of those symptoms don't show up until 6-8weeks.

However, most pregnancy test will show an accurate result up to 5 days before your missed period.

If you go to the Dr and have blood drawn they can tell you sooner than that, it will pick up on the slightest raise in hormones, so you might try that. Good luck though.

  5. You can do a pregnancy test as early as you want, just don't expect it to be positive even if you are pregnant.

The #1 reason for a false negative HPT is testing too early.

A home pregnancy test is never positive until at the earliest 10-11 days after ovulation/fertilization, that's about 2-3 days before a missed period, but the majority of pregnant women won't test positive until they miss their period.

Testing before a missed period can often give you a "false negative" pregnancy test, a pregnancy test that's negative when in fact you are pregnant.

That's why most doctors recommend to do a pregnancy test only after you miss your period so you won't be confused by a negative test.

Even if you are pregnant, a home pregnancy test (HPT) done 1-2 days before a missed period is positive in only 1 in 2 pregnant women.

And and even on the day of a missed period 1 in 4 women will have a negative pregnancy test.

Testing after a missed period will often give you a better answer to you question: "Am I pregnant?".
