Do I need to get a car that is made to run on biodeisel? Do I need to convert it?

If I could use it, where would I get it?

When will it be on the market?

  1. Biodiesel can be used anyplace you can burn #2 fuel oil. The only thing you might have to change is the fuel lines. Biodiesel will deteriorate natural rubber fuel lines. Most if not all newer diesel cars aand trucks have synthetic fuel lines. some older ones have rubber. Biodiesel gels at a much higher temperature than petrodiesel. I would not recommend it as a winter fuel for that reason.

  2. no clue

  3. Why not get the "World's Cleanest Car". It's cheaper than the hybrids

"BBC News is reporting that a French company has developed a pollution-free car which runs on compressed air. India's Tata Motors has the car under production and it may be on sale in Europe and India by the end of the year.

The air car, also known as the Mini-CAT or City Cat, can be refueled in minutes from an air compressor at specially equipped gas stations and can go 200 km on a 1.5 euro fill-up -- roughly 125 miles for $3. The top speed will be almost 70 mph and the cost of the vehicle as low as $7000."

  4. I dont know.

  5. Diesels in general will run on bio diesel.

However if you consult with the works dept of the city of Stratford on Avon, Ontario, Canada, they might guide you to avoid doing so. The bio diesel they were running on caused the injector pumps to fail on most or all of the trucks and tractors they had on bio diesel.

Incidentally, bio diesel is a renewable resource, but it will not be an adequate option for most current diesel uses, let alone new diesels.

  6. First you need to buy a diesel car; an old Mercedes or Volkwagen Jetta, Golf, Beetle all come diesel. You can buy biodiesel already 100% or mix with diesel from the big oil companies. Another cool thing that you can do is have the diesel car modified to run on Waste Vegetable OIl (WVO) the kit and installation could run $2,000-$3000, but you can then pour used filtered cooking oil right into the new tank (from the kit) and run 100% on a waste product. Studies have shown NO harm to the regular components of the car. Have fun.

  7. They charge more for biodiesel.I mix wvo with my diesel and heat fuel to 170 degrees. I run 80% summer and 50% winter.Doing that still helps the earth and people, and increases fuel mileage.
