When can babies jump?

Question

I know it sounds like a silly question but my boyfriend said that he read somewhere that babies can't jump, even once they've started to walk. We have a one and a half year old daughter and yep, you guessed it, she can't jump!

Does anyone know any science or research into this?

My 21 month old can fully jump off the floor. Both feet and everything. I think it just depends on the kid.
